2009 NATIONAL AUTUMN PRIMARY CARE CONFERENCE
November 13-15, 2009 Disneyland, Anaheim, CA

Dear Colleagues:

Welcome to the Kaiser Permanente National Autumn Primary Care Conference 2009.

APCC 2009 is intended for any clinician who is responsible for some aspect of caring for patients. Traditionally, attendees have been general internists, family physicians, occupational health clinicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants and physical therapists. APCC 2009 features 3 distinctive tracks and we encourage all APCC participants to mix and match their sessions and presentations to suit their professional needs.

  • Practical Primary Care Skills
  • Musculoskeletal Medicine Skills
  • Geriatric and Palliative Care

Teachers of this conference evaluate the content of their lecture through needs assessments, and prepare educational objectives that provide practical "take home points" that can immediately be implemented in your day-to-day practice.

Overall Course Objectives

  • At the end of this program, participants will be able to:
  • Implement current, practical, skill-oriented, evidence-based recommendations for cost effective prevention, screening, diagnostic, and management of important clinical conditions seen in the outpatient primary care, urgent care, palliative care and occupational medicine settings.
  • Make appropriate requests for specialty consultation in the management of selected common conditions.
  • Improve the effectiveness of their practices and the satisfaction of their patients, by implementing new communication skills and efficient workflows in the primary care setting.
