We started World Expeditions in Sydney, Australia, 25 years ago, and we've been taking small groups of adventurous travelers to the world's far-flung corners ever since.

From our early beginnings taking adventurers to the Himalaya, we've developed a broad range of off-the-beaten-track adventures to all manner or remote destinations around the globe - including the Himalaya, South America, Antarctica, Australia, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and many more.

To coordinate these expeditions, we've established a network of offices that includes not just Australia, but also in London, Auckland, and most recently, San Francisco.
In many of our key destinations, we have ownership in the company that actually operates the adventures on the ground This makes us an adventure company unlike any other. Not only does it mean that we have tight control over all aspects of our expeditions, but it also allows us to offer a high quality trip at a competitive price.

We have a history of commitment to environmental issues. We recycle in the office. We turn the lights out when we leave. But more importantly, we're dedicated to making sure that our impact (and yours) on the fragile environments and cultures we visit, is minimal.

In fact it was in recognition of our responsible approach to travel in remote areas that in our home country, Australia, The Wilderness Society gave us its full endorsement. We're also proud to be endorsed by (and a founding member of) the International Porter Protection Group (IPPG) www.ippg.net - an organization that seeks to protect the lives and welfare of trekking porters.
